Let the fun begin with ice cream cone cupcakes!
Perfect for summer birthday parties, outdoor parties or just for the special someone. Ice cream cone cupcakes are a perfect treat, and an exciting way to eat a cupcake!
You might be wondering (just like I was) how on earth do you balance your ice cream cones, or won't the batter leak through, what about how much to fill them! It actually wasn't as hard as I had first envisioned, and they turned out really great (somewhat to my surprise!)
Here's what I learned... Whatever you do, DON'T overfill your ice cream cones. My recommendation is to leave a good half inch (or more) between the batter and the top of the top of the cone. This way you shouldn't have much, or any overflow to scrape off.
Here's what you'll need:
1 doz ice cream cones with the flat bottoms
regular cupcake tin
frosting and piping bag (or zip lock bag)
Place your icecream cones into the cupcake tins, one in each slot, standing up.
Once you have your cupcake mix prepared transfer batter into a container with a pour spoud, like a measuring cup or gravy bowl.
Carefully pour batter into each ice cream cone, leaving a good inch and a half from the top of the cone.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until your tooth pick comes out clean.
Once your cupcakes have cooled completely frost them with your favorite frosting and decorated.
There's a lot of really cool and fun things you can do with ice cream cone cupcakes. Here's some of the best of best!
